Do you ever feel like you are in the Twilight Zone? This whole week has been one episode after another.
Just odd stuff.
My 5 year old daughter, who knows better, cut her nice shirt that she was wearing today. Why you ask?....hmmm good question? She doesn't even know why she did it. Next thing I know it will be her long blond hair. I will just die. I warn her all the time to NEVER cut her hair. She is now grounded from scissors until further notice!!!!!!
Other things have just felt kind of weird and out of place. Kind of like the world is pitted against me and I seem to be the brunt of everything that goes wrong......I know wa wa wa, cry me a river!
I received a horrible letter from a friend. (I don't think she reads this blog) It contained everything I have said or done wrong (as far as her interpretation goes) to her in the the past year. I still don't know how to handle it. Any suggestions?
I should pray about it.
ARGH!
Why?
Why does crappy little stuff happen to us like that, that just festers and drives us nuts? Was it really necessary? Does it really help to tell someone word for word how horrible they are? 3/4Th's of what she said was false. I am guilty of helping her out in a very bad situation that she was in, that she now pits against me.
Oh well, I will get over it.
I guess.
I am reading a book called What Happy People Know by Dan Baker. It is really good. I recommend picking it up if you are looking for a happy read. I found it at the Library and I have renewed it several times because I am still not finished with it. I only get to read a couple pages a day.
here are a few tidbits of it:
Appreciation is the purest, strongest form of love. Research shows that it is physiologically impossible to be in a state of appreciation and a state of fear at the same time. Thus, appreciation is the antidote to fear.
Choice is the father of freedom and the voice of the heart. Having no choices, or options, feels like being in jail. It leads to depression, anxiety and the condition called learned helplessness.
Anyway, it is very eye opening and I am learning a lot about choosing how I want to live my life and taking control over it. Both Mentally and Physically.
I love that we get a fresh start at a new day. I also love that we get a new week. And I know that it is never too late to start something good!
Hopefully (fingers crossed) next week wont be so Twilight Zone-ish.
