Summers over

We did a lot of swimming this summer, I love these pictures of the twins.
They love the pool.
They say "Mom, go to the cool?"
(yes cool...not pool)
Allie loves to put on the life jacket and jump into the big pool, but Jarom is just content staying in the baby pool.
Until our last day at the pool we didn't have any issues.
Last Saturday, I took them to the pool for one last swim before school starts and Allie had a little ...okay BIG accident in the pool.
I was so embarrassed to have to tell the lifeguards that my vivacious 2 3/4 almost three year old pooped in the pool.
Yes, she had a swim diaper on but the life jacket she was wearing pulled the diaper to the side and hence the accident into the water.
They had to clear the pool which thankfully consisted of us and one other girl.
They bleached the stairs where she was sitting and fished out all the poop. Too much info?
They decided to close the pool so I guess it was a good thing for the employees who are less than enthusiastic about being there.
It was pretty early in the day.
Anywhoo,
Summer is over, I am so over taking pictures on the first day of school thing.
I don't know why,
but I just could care less this year.
Emma is in first grade, Carter is in 7th.
I am just glad that we are on a schedule again.
I get a little more time to myself now.
And my chores get done by 9 am so I can start on my projects.
I have a lot of them going on right now.
Taking the kiddos to the park now!

Ah the lazy days of summer.....NOT!

I always have to do one of these...it's-been-a-while posts just to say that I will post again soon!
The summer has been a little crazier than I thought it would be.
Baseball being a huge factor. But have no fear ( I am talking to myself) there is only one more game left and I secretly hope they lose so we don't have to do anymore trips to tooele for games! yahoo!!!
Who ever said summer days were lazy? I am still waiting for that part to happen.
I will post pictures and updates really soon,....I hope!

memorial day golf tournament

Russell and his dad were partners in the Dugway golf tournament.
They took first place!!!
They won 50 bucks, a huge trophy, a clock and a little trophy! ~(each)~
They ate tons of food and had a blast.
I am so proud of them!
i snuck out there after my run for a few snap shots.

there were moths out there the size of small birds.
they would fly right into their faces.
the golf cart that i stole to drive out there had a mouse that would run out and run around my feet.
ahhhh!
it was a cute little brown mouse.
it actually looked like someones pet.

memorial day 5 k

the family ran the 5 k...except russell, he was golfing at the time.
it was my first race. of course i didn't run the entire thing, i am still working up my endurance. i ran about 2 miles though, which i think is great for someone who HATES to run. (love you ben)

the kids got out of the stroller and ran for about a half a block. after dealing with them getting in and out of the stroller for the first mile, i gave them to carter and off i ran.
oranges, bananas, and cold water at the end was a great refresher. i think allie had about 4 oranges all to herself.

konea, annie, me and kalle.
we are all in the YW together.
konea is a major runner.
she took second place.
kalle is 5 months prego and did fabulous.
it was a very fun day full of activities.
we ended the day with a movie.
i took emma and a friend of hers to see hannah montana.
dugway has some great things for the family!

Rock climbing~Pool Party

jarom, mckenzie, carter, emma, cayson, andie, and allie.

Jarom was so into the climbing until we put the equipment on him to actually climb...., then he freaked out.

Graduation Day!

This morning I went in to wake up Emma, and I couldn't do it.
She looked so comfy and cozy, so I let her sleep in on her last day of Kindergarten.

Sorry about this picture being so blurry.
There were 31 kids in her class. Yikes!
Her teacher Mrs. Faucett is a saint.

She did so great in the program!
She was one of the 5 valedictorians in her class with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

She is my little apron strings girl.
She want to do everything her mommy does.
She is so smart and is a sponge waiting to learn.
She loves it!
She can't wait for 1st grade.
She is going to be the best first grader ever!
I love her so much!

New hair New Me!

What is it about a new hair cut that just makes you feel so good?
This isn't a really great before picture, but you can see about how long my hair was before.
It was past my shoulders.
The new cut is called a Lob. (long bob)
If I straightened it out it would just touch my shoulders.
It is slight an A-line cut.
I did it myself because I really don't trust too many people with my hair.
Being a hair dresser, I have become picky.
I will only let my sisters do it.
And, they were not readily available to cut it at the time.

It even still looked good after I came in from a run.

I love it.
It is so liberating cutting your hair off.
I was talking to a friend the other day showing her different hairstyles in a book, and I mentioned to her that a lot of people go with the trends instead of what looks good on them.
It got me thinking that I was doing just that.
I have never been a long hair girl.
I feel better with short hair.
It fits my personality better.
I was trying to keep my long hair for dumb reasons like the fact that I have never had super long hair.?!?! Dumb...
Oh well, the grow out phase is over.
Don't cut your hair unless you are ready and willing or else you will hate it.
But if you are ready for a change and want to feel good with a new look for summer.....
Explore and search for your new doo!
It feels GREAT!

Happy Mothers Day!

This is the best present I have ever gotten from my husband.
These are my first set of scriptures that have my name on them.
It made me cry when I saw them.
I told Russell that I wonder if they would mean so much if I hadn't have waited 33 years to get them.
They are perfect!
I immediately highlighted my favorite scripture in Ether 12:27
Happy Mothers Day to my Mom!
Happy Mothers Day to my Sisters and Sisters-in-law!
Happy Mothers Day to all of my Friends!
Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Moms out there!
I love you!

A good reason to NOT do something stupid

When I was 17, I did something really stupid.....

So after hating it for years, I got a really good excuse to get rid of it.

I got a calling in the Young Women.

And I refuse to be a bad influence for my girls.

I wear long pants or boots that cover it.

I haven't shown it since I got the calling.

I went for a consult on Friday and the lady said, "you want to do it right now?"

I was like....heck ya!

So she lazered it.

It hurt. (luckily it was over in mere minutes)

It was expensive.

It cost me $75.00 to put the tattoo on.

It cost me $175.00 for ONE session of the process to take it off.

It will take a year of lazering every 8 weeks to get rid of it completely.

And yes, I have to pay a hundred and seventy five bucks each time!!!

Here is what it looked like a few hours after I got it lazered.

A little blistery.
(warning...the next pictures are yucky!)

Here is what it looked like the next day (yesterday)

Have you every seen a blister that big before?

Sick huh?!

Russ popped it last night with a sterilized needle.

It oozed.

It makes me sick just talking about it.

GRosS!
